A handbuilt ceramic cat sculpture. Made by Dewey Studios, this 1982 piece depicts a wide-bodied white cat curled up in a contented resting position finished in cream with pit firing marks in in smoky markings of browns and deep greys. The piece is signed ‘S’ to the interior and marked to the verso, ‘Copyright 1982 by The Dewey Studio, 3 S’.
