Antique Hand-Knotted Persian Kerman Accent Rug
Item Details
An antique Persian Kerman accent rug. This wool rug is hand knotted in a broad jewel-toned palette, ranging from ruby, sapphire, camel, topaz and cream to celadon. It begins with an elaborately patterned floral cartouche, grounded in cream, the grounding barely peeking through the riot of flowers. The cartouche rests on a ruby field, which is similarly densely populated with florals. Framing the field are four box borders, three of which are floral, while the outer guard border is ruby. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with tan, knotted wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
