Item Details

A finely hand-knotted Persian Mahi Tabriz wool room sized rug. This rug is rendered in a variegated palette of deep indigo, terracotta, slate, ivory, apricot, cranberry, olive, powder blue, walnut, and wheat. The deep indigo hued field begins with a layered pendant medallion, along with layered spandrels, while infilled throughout with an intricate herati design. Framing the field is a main ornately designed herati border, as well as a number of floral meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a long cotton warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
