Hand-Knotted Persian Isfahan "Garden" Silk Prayer Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Isfahan silk prayer rug. This accent rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, wine, chartreuse, aqua, rose, teal, sapphire, cornsilk, and apricot. The field features a single ivory grounded mihrab infilled with intricately detailed floral sprays branching of a curvilinear tree, while accompanied with colorful perched and in-flight birds. The niche is housed in a wine colored ground, which features similar designs of flowering branches and birds. Framing the field is a main carnation meander border, as well as a pair of laleh abbasi guard borders. Finishing this rug are double overcast selvedges and a silk warp fringe to the ends. This rug is labeled ‘Genuine Hand Woven Oriental Rug’.
