Coiled Ammonoid Specimen on Resin Base

A coiled ammonoid specimen. This sectioned and polished specimen of a fossil cephalopod displays mud and calcite filled chambers. The specimen retains some of the original shell material which obscures the chamber suture pattern but where the suture pattern is exposed it is ammonitic in nature. No collection locality information is provided for this specimen. It is affixed to a clear resin base.
