Hand-Knotted Persian Gabbeh Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Gabbeh wool area rug. The rug has been worked in abrashed shades of denim and indigo blue and ivory. An ivory foursquare design infilled and framed by various geometric motifs is placed in the center of the field. Blocks of small scale geometric forms are aligned along the long sides while there are paired bands of patterning at each end. The selvedges have been overcast in barber pole stripes and there are short embroidered kilim skirts at each end. The rug is not labeled.
