Hand-Knotted Persian Hamadan Wool Carpet Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan carpet runner. This wool rug begins with a floral medallion to the center of a crimson colored field. The surrounding ground is populated with symmetrical floral arrangements joined by layered spandrels worked in a palette of navy, ivory, pink, azure, apricot, onyx and grey. Framing the filed are reciprocal sawtooth and geometric patterned borders in complimentary colors. Selvedges are overcast in stripes, finishing with ivory warp fringe at either end. It is not labeled.
