Hand-Knotted Northwest Persian Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Northwest Persian tribal area rug. This wool rug offers boteh designs in various patterns. It begins with large boteh to the center using floral elements which are outlined by smaller boteh. Mirror boteh are used to create diamond frames ending with small filler motifs and large boteh to each corner. This rug is rendered in a palette including crimson, denim, moss, grey, ivory, onyx and sand. Selvedges are overcast in stripes, finishing with ivory warp fringe at either end. It is not labeled.
