A George III mahogany veneer corner display cabinet, circa 1810. The triangular top piece with curved front edge overhangs a curved, clear glass panel cabinet door with shaped mullions opening to two shelves. The piece rests on curved and splayed legs joined by an open shelf over three aligned drawers and stretchers; ‘Ernest Smith Furniture Warehouse’ engraved onto a brass placard, fixed beneath, the mark of the antique dealer Ernest Smith of Southsea, who was in operation around 1900.
