Antique Chinese Gourd Cricket Box

Item Details

A Chinese cricket box fashioned from a gourd and secured with a bone lid. The cricket box would have been used to transport a lucky cricket and the detailed artisanship shows the importance of these insects to their owners. The lid is decorated with a carved dragon medallion and the gourd features calligraphy decoration to the sides.
