Antique Steeple Style Mantel Clock

An antique steeple style mantel clock. A 19th century steeple clock with a walnut and mixed wood and veneer case that has a gilded peacock design. The clock has a steepled bonnet with spire finials on side columns with corner block capitals and a glass front door with a reverse painted image of a gilded peacock with gilded floral accents. Other features of the clock include a brass bezel surrounding a white face with black Roman numerals, two key arbors and slender black hands set on an open escapement. The clock has a brass tone and silvertone pendulum, a brass key and an 8-day time and strike movement with chimes on the hour and stands on a plinth style base. There are no apparent makers marks.
