Peter Keil Vintage Oil Painting on Masonite "Green Flowers"
Item Details
An original 1984 oil painting on board titled Green Flowers by very well-listed and prolific contemporary German Neo-Expressionist Peter Robert Keil (Berlin; born 1942). This painting depicts several large flowers in a green flower pot, against a bright orange background. It is rendered in Keil’s signature bold black lines and vibrant color. This work is signed and dated to the lower right, is signed and titled to the verso, and includes a certificate of authenticity. It is unframed, awaiting your choice of presentation.
Influenced by German Expressionism and graffiti elements, Keil is known for his simplified abstractions of traditional art subjects. He studied under Otto Nagel at a young age and developed relationships with other renowned artists such as Joan Miro. As Keil abandoned realism and developed his signature style, he used more vibrant colors rapidly applied with large gestural brushstrokes resembling the abstract style of Picasso.
Condition
