An offset lithograph after Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock triptych titled Graceful Prince Genji with Cherry Blossoms at Night (優美源氏暗夜櫻) after print master Utagawa Kunisada (歌川 国貞, 1786-1865), also known as Utagawa Toyokuni III (三代歌川豊国). The triptych depict Prince Genji in the central print wearing an elaborate kimono accompanied by four elegant women. They are crossing a bridge and appreciating the blossoming cherry trees in the evening. Each print bears the artist’s ‘jinbutsu ki-ō Toyokuni ga’ (人物喜翁豊国画) in-block signature alongside a publisher’s seal and a zodiacal date seal. The print’s title is printed in the upper right of the far right print. The triptych is mounted, matted, and presented in a wood frame with a hanging wire to the verso.
