Item Details
A hand-knotted Pakistani wool carpet runner. The rug has been worked in shades of scarlet, denim, indigo, ash, clementine, and wine. The design features a series of diamond pole medallions infilled with smaller geometric devices and edged in hooked motifs. Narrow bands in blue and white flank alternating rectangles of scarlet and denim to create the inner border. The primary borders incorporate a running dog pattern of connected ‘S’ hooks with barber pole stripes. The ends of the field include panels of flat weaving that is repeated in the kilim skirts with bands of interrupted diagonal stripes. The carpet bears two identical labels which identify the fiber content, country of origin, and state that the carpet was made without the use of child labor.
