Hand-Knotted Indo-Persian Kashmir Silk Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Indo-Persian Kashmir silk area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of indigo, burnt orange, ivory, pale yellow, aqua, taupe, apricot, and wheat. The indigo colored field begins with an ogee shaped pendant medallion designed with an ornate floral theme. That theme flows through the rest of the field with sprays, bouquets, and leaves, along with equally elaborate spandrels layered in hues of pale yellow and aqua. Framing the field is a main burnt orange grounded stylized herati border, along with a pair of floral meander guard, and sawtooth minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a silk kilim skirt with long silk warp fringe to the ends. This rug is labeled ‘Genuine Hand Woven Oriental Rug’.
