Vargas "Sleepy Time Gal" Unframed Lithograph Print

From the San Francisco Art Exchange Publishing Company 1987, Esquire Associates, a lithograph from Peruvian artist Alberto Vargas (1896-1982), who signed his name Varga. A well known artists of pin up girls, this print is titled ‘Sleepy Time Gal’, features a beautiful woman scantily dressed in see-through bed attire, is unframed, and has artist signature to lower right corner, a L/E 40/200. Stamped to back with San Francisco Art Exchange Publishing Company 1987, and ‘Original painting courtesy of the Esquire Collection, Spencer Museum of Art, The University of Kansas’.
Peruvian artist Alberto Vargas (1896-1982), was born in Arequipa, Peru, in 1896, the son of a successful photographer, and was educated in Switzerland. He arrived in New York in 1916, and was determined to stay in America and pursue what became an illustrious career. Alberto Vargas’ name has become synonymous with pin-up girls.
