A 1978 Xavier Roberts The Little People doll. This soft sculpture doll is named ‘Abner Palmer’, and features a needle molded head with hand-painted brown eyes, rosy cheeks, and dimpled arms and legs. He is adorned in a graphic tee with stylized text reading “I visited babyland General Hospital in Cleveland, Ga” and a pair of ‘The Little People Collection’ jeans. The doll is accompanied by its “Official Adoption Paper”. This limited edition doll is handcrafted and signed by creator Xavier Roberts to the backside, and is a precursor to the iconic Cabbage Patch Kids dolls produced by Coleco, then Mattel, among others.
