An abstract acrylic on composite wood board painting titled Rock n Roll vs Wolverine by contemporary American artist Jonas Raider. The Abstract Expressionist inspired work depicts a blend of overlapping lines, rounded shapes and paint splatters rendered in a bright, contrasting palette of red, yellow, black, and white. The painting is signed ‘Raider’ to the lower right margin. It is presented unframed with hanging wire to the verso.
This work is noted to have been painted in 2000. It was showcased for the first time at the famed Metropolis Gallery in Manhattan. From the artist’s statement: ‘I was 29 years old when I painted the piece. Wolverine is one of my favorite comic book characters. This is a depiction of an abstract piece of Wolverine fighting Rock and Roll music.’
