WWII US Army M1 Garand Bayonet with "Spear Cut"

An M1909 M1 Garand Bayonet with “Spear Cut” tip to blade, housed in original sheath.The blade is inscribed SA with the Ordnance flaming cannonball mark and 1909 and with serial number 424910 to the other side. This was originally a M1905 16’ bayonet that was cut down to 10’ as many of the longer original bayonets were modified during WWII when the 10’ bayonet became standard length. The blood groove extends to the tip of the blade. The bayonet features a metal and walnut grip.
