Antique Chinese Qing Dynasty Period Embroidered Silk Cloud Collar
Item Details
An antique Chinese Qing Dynasty period (1644-1912) yun jian silk embroidered cloud collar (雲肩). The layered sage, red and cream silk jacquard collar is trimmed in black silk with blue and white embroidery; orange grosgrain ribbon with blue flowers and blue grosgrain ribbon with white flowers. It has a mandarin collar, layered sections with cutouts, scalloped edges and embroidery and yellow silk ties to each side. The floral and moth motif embroidery features the forbidden stitch. The interior is lined in a silk damask.
Condition
- delicate and fragile, discoloration throughout, fraying and staining on the back of the collar; tearing at the right side.
