Hand-Knotted Persian "Karaja" Carpet Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian village carpet runner. This wool rug features a Karaja-style design in a markedly abrashed palette of cherry, coral, emerald, rose, cream and shades of blue. It begins with a vertical row of Karaja-style medallions of different shapes over a purposefully abrashed field of cherry and coral. Filling the field are a variety of motifs, including geometric florets, flower stalks and anbstract elements. A single border framed the field. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with ivory cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
