A hand-knotted Persian Tabriz silk and wool palace sized rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of indigo, cranberry, ivory, gold, teal, azure, rose, and wheat. The indigo colored field begins with an ogee shaped pendant medallion in layers of ivory and cranberry. The field has an overall arabesque design with scrolling vine-work featuring lancette leaves, palmettes, and floral motifs. Framing the field is a cranberry grounded main stylized herati border, along with two styles of floral meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a fine silk fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
