An English style upholstered library armchair. The chair has an arched crest rail and the back is padded and upholstered in a red, , brown and gold colored chenille fabric with brass tone nail head trim. The arms are reeded and curved, with leaf carvings at the tops and to the ends and arm supports. The seat is padded and upholstered in a brown leather-like material, and the chair rests on carved hoof feet with H stretchers. No maker’s mark.
