Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Heriz Serapi wool room sized rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of cranberry, ivory, deep rose, indigo, sky blue, and wheat. The ivory colored field is densely patterned with rectilinear floral and foliate motifs, along with a cranberry grounded lozenge with stepped edges that features a large star shaped medallion. The medallion ends in palmette pendants, and follows the same theme with curl edged leaves, flowering vines, and an abundance of other floral motifs. There are also coordinating layered spandrels in cranberry and indigo hues. Framing the field is a leaf and blossom main border grounded in indigo, along with floral meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are double overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
