Hand-Knotted Indo-Persian Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Indo-Persian area rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, cornsilk, sage and camel. It features an allover _ herati_ pattern incorporating large-scale palmettes, smaller palmettes, curling lancet leaves and flowers over a crimson field. The field is framed by four borders, including a wide herati primary border over camel. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with mesh skirts and knotted cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
