Semi-Antique Hand-Knotted Qum Wool Room Sized Rug
Item Details
A semi-antique hand-knotted Qum wool room sized rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, madder red, cobalt, cerulean, saffron, rose, sepia, sage, and wheat. The ivory colored field begins with a large pendant medallion grounded in madder red infilled with palmettes, floral motifs, and lancette leaves. The field also features scrolling vine-work with intricately detailed flowers, palmettes, and cloud band forms. Framing the field is a cobalt grounded stylized herati main border, along with a pair of floral meander guard borders, and vine designed minor borders. Finishing this rug are double overcast selvedges and an extremely short cotton warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
