Towle "King Richard" Sterling Silver Flatware

A collection of sterling silver flatware by Towle. This is in the Ferdinand Poppenhäuser designed King Richard pattern, first introduced in 1932, which features an ornate handle with accents of flowers, beading, and scrolls. The forty-one piece set includes six butter spreaders, eight dinner forks, seven salad forks, eight soup spoons, and four teaspoons, all marked ‘Towle Sterling’. They are presented with eight dinner knives that have stainless steel blades and sterling hollow handles, and also included is a sterling fork by S. Kirk & Son. The total approximate weight, excluding dinner knives with stainless blades, is 47.855 ozt.
