Item Details
A hand-knotted Tekke Bokhara area rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of scarlet, peach, ivory and black. It features two vertical rows of Tekke medallions interspersed with Chemche-style guls over a scarlet field. Framing the field are multiple wraparound borders, featuring abstract patterns over scarlet, and two horizontal elem panels, each filled with a diamond lattice. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with a short mesh skirt and knotted wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
