Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Qashqai Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A vintage Persian hand-knotted Qashqai wool area rug. The rug has been worked in abrashed shades of midnight, leaf, robin’s egg blue, ivory, canary, persimmon, camel, sky, salmon, aqua, and deep ecru. The field is densely populated by a design which incorporates hooked pendant devices, herati, and smaller vegetal motifs. The compound borders include barber pole stripe bands, stylized flowers on vines, and rectilinear palmette and split leaf motifs. The selvedges have been finished in two colors by hand and there is fringe at each end. The rug is not labeled.
