1817 "Elegant Extracts... From the Most Eminent Poets" Volumes
Item Details
An assortment of five antique books. This collection includes three of the six volumes of the anthology Eminent Extracts: A Copious Selection of Instructive, Moral, and Entertaining Passages from the Most Eminent Poets (New York: Kirk & Mercein, 1817), the first volume of The Chinese: A General Description of the Empire of China and Its Inhabitants by John Francis Davis (London: Charles Knight & Co., 1836), and the first volume of The Menageries. The poetry volumes are bound in full leather with gilt and the two other volumes are bound alike in half leather over marbled boards.
