An original gouache and watercolor painting on paper by well-listed American nautical painter Hunter A. Wood (1908 – 1948), titled Steady. The painting depicts a man pointing a harpoon cannon at a large iceberg floating in front of his small boat on a choppy body of water. The painting is signed to the lower right. It is mated in white and presented behind glass in a wooden frame with silver tone finish and a hanging wire. A tag from Harry F. Marks. Inc. Gallery in New York is attached to the verso and gives information about the piece, and a long biography of the artist is also attached. Condition
- light craquelure to a few areas where paint is applied thickly.
