Hand-Knotted Persian Hamadan Carpet Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted contemporary Hamadan carpet runner. This wool rug features a Turkmen-inspired design in a palette of red, tangerine, dark brown/black, ivory and indigo. It begins with three vertical rows of Turkmen-style geometric medallions over a red field. Framing the field are three borders, including a main border grounded in black, featuring stylized endless knot palmettes, lancet leaves and blossom clusters. Minor borders feature sawtooth patterns in indigo and red with tangerine outlines. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short ivory cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
