Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Qashqai area rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of garnet, charcoal, ochre, cream, green and black. It begins with two fused Qashqai
hexagonal medallions, each grounded in charcoal and black, over a garnet field, which is filled with chains of small geometric palmettes as well as occasional botehs and geometric rosettes. The field is framed by four lively borders, including a boteh-and-floral meander pattern over cream and a minor border of diagonal stripes in the color of the palette. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with variegated wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
