Hand-Knotted Persian Serabend "Mir-a-Boteh" Long Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Serabend mir-a-boteh long rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of midnight blue, azure, terracotta and cream. It features an allover pattern of small boteh motifs in cream, terracotta and azure over a midnight blue field. The field is framed by compound borders including a Serabend-style meander border over cream and minor borders featuring Xs and cross-motifs over azure. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
