A limited edition serigraph poster on paper featuring the piece Le Coq sur Paris (The Rooster Over Paris) after French artist Marc Chagall (1887-1985). This poster advertises the 90th Anniversary Exhibition at Nahan Galleries in 1977. The printed imagery depicts an illustration of a rooster with a head split between bird and human in the sky over the Paris skyline, a woman in a window with flowers, and a couple reclining over the rooftops with exhibition information printed throughout. The artist’s name is printed to the lower margin, it is signed in plate to the lower right, and marked as number 36 in an edition of 200 to the lower left. The print is presented behind glass in a silver tone metal frame with wire to the verso for hanging.
Condition
- slightly discolored and showing a small amount of foxing; accretion under the glass to the upper right corner; dents and marks to frame.
