An original gouache painting on paper of a figure by Wisconsin artist Robert Lahmann (1922-2014). This painting depicts a loosely rendered female figure in the process of stretching against a colorful abstract background. The artist has used multiple layers of both transparent and opaque pigment in both the figure and background, resulting in a dynamic composition. This painting is signed and dated (’66) to the lower right. The piece is presented in a green mat and is unframed.

Robert Lahmann was a mid 20th to early 21st Century Wisconsin artist known for his watercolor, gouache and acrylic paintings and drawings, primarily landscapes and portraits.

Condition

- there is a small tear at the base of the composition which has been repaired with tape from behind.
