Antique Japanese Imari Porcelain Charger

Item Details

An antique hand-painted Japanese Imari charger. The circular piece is decorated in a Chinese style and features a pattern reminiscent of the Rose Canton pattern with a bird and floral design to the well surrounded by panels of flowers to the verge with pink blossom and scrolling leaf borders on a mottled brown ground. The underside bears a Chenghua reign mark, however, it was likely produced in the 19th century in Japan, or earlier.
