A signed art glass vase by Kelsey Murphy from Pilgrim Cameo Glass. Cameo Glass showcases the rare art of carving through different layers of colored glass. Each piece is handblown, hand carved and hand polished, depicts green leaves draping down to a woman who stands behind a brick wall, arm outstretched to the pale gold birds. It is etched underneath ‘Kelsey / Pilgrim’, with a number ‘900927’, an edition number 4/99 and a 1991 date.
Known for her beautiful and detailed cameo glass work, Kelsey Murphy, along with partner Robert Bomkamp, designs different style of cameo and carved glass vases, bowls, lamps and more. Each of Kelsey’s designs are created from an original pencil drawing and the design is then fully developed for glass before it is then carefully sand-carved by hand to bring out the many different and often richly colored layers of glass.
