This painting a solitary white peony bloom laying across a table, rendered in painterly brushwork. It is initialed to the lower right and the artist and title are indicated to the verso. This piece is presented in a natural wood floater frame with a black liner and is ready to hang with a sawtooth bracket.

S. Josephine Weaver graduated in 1968 with a BFA from Layton School of Art located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She also studied at Edgecliff College and the Art Academy, both located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The artist paints a variety of subject matter in a style that ranges from abstract to realism. Her work has been displayed nationally, including solo shows in Washington D.C, and she has worked as a juror for many shows and galleries in her current home town of Cincinnati.
