A signed seriolithograph titled Fly by Night by Japanese-American artist and children’s book illustrator Ikki Matsumoto. This print on paper depicts a whimsical illustrative scene depicting a figure sailing a boat in the night sky toward the moon. This work is signed to the lower right corner of the picture plane and editioned to the lower left ‘237/750’. It is presented in a metal frame, under glass, with a wire hanger to the verso. Born in Tokyo, Matsumoto studied art at the John Herron School of Art in Indianapolis and then the Art Academy in Cincinnati where he studied under the Cincinnati artist Charley Harper.

Condition

- slight scuffs to frame; negligible discoloration to surface of print.
