A signed first edition 1932 etching on paper by very well-listed American artist Francis Luis Mora (New York/Connecticut, 1874 – 1940), titled The Surrender of Cornwallis. The print depicts British General Charles Cornwallis surrendering to American and French troops, ending the Revolutionary War. The print is signed in-plate to the lower right and is signed in graphite just below this. It is matted in white and presented behind glass in a thin wooden frame with black and gold tone finishes and a hanging wire.

Mora studied at the Boston Museum School of Fine Art and the New York Art Students League, studying under prolific artists Frank Benson and Edmund Tarbell. He was a member of numerous art clubs and societies, including The National Arts Club, The Art Students League, The Salmagundi Club, The Pen and Brush Club, The Architectural League, and The American Watercolor Society. He was best-known for his murals and portraits, and today has works exhibited worldwide including at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Smithsonian Museum, The Newark Museum, The Hood Museum (Dartmouth University), The San Diego Art Museum, The Butler Museum of American Art, and The National Gallery of Canada.

- to fair. Print is lightly yellowed with age and has light warping across. Foxing and discoloration to matting.
