A Japanese woodblock print on paper, circa 1890-1900, by very well-listed Japanese printmaker Ogata Gekkō (尾形月耕, 1859 – 1920), titled Rice Planting. The print depicts two men watching three woman place rice seedlings into a paddy. The artist’s signature and two seals are printed to the upper right. The piece is matted in thin wood and is presented behind glass in a thin wooden frame carved to look like bamboo with a hanging wire attached to the verso.

Condition

- light discoloration to paper. Piece’s hanging wire is detached on one end.
