A page from a Japanese woodblock-printed book attributed to Utagawa Toyokuni III (三代歌川豊国 Japanese; 1769 – 1825), also known as Utagawa Kunisada (歌川 国貞). The piece depicts three figures in patterned robes in an interior setting. Lines of text in block hang suspended, appearing as leaves or curtains above their heads. The unsigned print is matted in cream and presented under glass in a black wooden frame fitted with hanging cord to the verso. A tag to the frame backing attributes the work to Toyokuni.

Condition

- discoloration and toning to paper and matting; wear, nicks and scratches to frame.
