1903 Edition Set of "Italy through the Stereoscope" with Stereoscope

A 1903 edition set of Italy through the Stereoscope published by in New York and London Underwood & Underwood with a complementary antique stereoscope. Part of the Tours of the World series, the set includes a book fully titled Italy through the Stereoscope: Journeys In and About Italian Cities conducted by D.J. Ellison, D. D. The book is bound in a green clothbound hardcover with gilt lettering. A booklet with maps and plans is stored in a rear pocket adhered to the back cover of the book. Also included is a set of stereoview cards, each with two albumen photographs; 94 of the 100 stereoview cards are included, which are copyrighted 1897 or 1898 by Underwood & Underwood, and housed in a dark brown cloth box. An early 20th century wood and metal stereoscope by an unknown manufacturer.

- 6 stereoview cards missing; minor wear to edges of stereoview cards; outer layer of box is peeling; wear throughout surface of box; stains and edgewear throughout book cover; slightly loose hinges in book; minor toning consistent throughout book pages; wear to booklet cover including tears and bending along edges; small tears along edges of folded maps in booklet.
