A color lithograph on paper after George and Maurice Audsley. The piece originates as Plate XCVII from their work titled Polychromatic Decoration as Applied to Buildings in the Mediaeval Styles, originally published in the late 19th century. It depicts three ornate multicolored column designs. The unsigned print is inscribed in plate to the lower margin with ‘G.A. & M.A. Audsley, Inven. et Del’ and ‘Litho: Blackie & Son, Limited’. It is matted in cream and presented under glass in a gold tone wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- minor discoloration to paper and matting; slight wear and marks to frame and verso.
