A hand-knotted Persian pictorial area rug. This wool rug features an intricate interplay of panels and compositional devices including images of mosques, figurals, gardens, florals, vases, cranes, cloudband motifs and foliates. Selvedges are overcast. Ends finish with cotton warp fringe. Leather strips are attached to the underside. A faded fabric label with dimensions is attached to the underside.
