Vintage Hand-Knotted Sino-Persian Tabriz Area Rug
Item Details
A vintage Sino-Persian Tabriz area rug. This wool rug is hand knotted in a palette of onyx, cream, rose, powder blue, zephyr yellow, coral and sage. It begins with a round, densely patterned floral centerpiece ringed by a wide band of florals over an onyx field. Populating the field are elaborately arabesqued flowers, vines, foliage and vase forms. The field is framed by some nine borders, including a wide main border featuring crisply rendered vases and flowers over onyx. Selvedges are overcast. Ends finish with partial kilim skirts. The rug is unlabeled.
