A hand-knotted Persian Gabbeh pictorial area rug. This wool area rug features a color palette of smoke gray, tan, yellow ochre, and carmine. The field is decorated with a large central lion figure, rendered in a flattened geometric style. It is framed by a flower motif band with fringe to either end and overcast selvedges. The rug has no visible maker’s marks present.
