Hand-Knotted Persian Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian area rug. This wool rug features a palette of vermillion, crimson, violet-blue, pink, tawny, teal, ivory, goldenrod, peach and fern. It has a diamond-shaped serrated edge medallion with attached pendants on a diamond shaped lozenge that is patterned with a geometric herati motif that continues onto layered corner spandrels. Framing the field are zig-zag and meandering floral guard borders and a main vine and blossom border over ivory. Selvedges are overcast, and the rug finishes with ivory warp fringe to either end. It is not labeled.
