Item Details
An antique hand-knotted Persian Hamadan wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of madder red, salmon, sapphire, clementine, ivory, mahogany, and sand. The madder red hued field begins with a salmon grounded lozenge infilled with a large lobed medallion, while also featuring an all-over herati design. Framing the field is a main branched flower and palmette meander border, as well as a pair of carnation meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
